A first world war mons star medal trio awarded to L/13632 Private Arthur Edward Pell, Middlesex Regiment, who was wounded at Le Basse and later employed by London Transport.

Arthur Edward Pell was born on 2nd October 1892, son of Frederick Francis Pell. 

He attested on 2nd July 1911 he served in France with 2nd Battalion Middlesex Regiment from 7th November 1914 and qualified for the ‘Aug-Nov 1914’ clasp.

He was severely wounded at La Basse and invalided back to the UK. Discharged on 2nd June 1915 and entitled to a Silver War Badge.

Post-war he was a Coach Builder living at 16 Scholefield Road, Holloway, London N19

He married Elizabeth May Jennings at St.Martin's Church, Kentish Town, London NW5 on 3rd June 1922.

In September 1939 he was employed as a Railway Car Examiner by the London Passenger Transport Board and lived at 22 Evesham Green, Merton & Morden, Surrey
