A second world war casualty medal group awarded to Midshipman David Le Mesurier Granet, Royal Navy, who was sadly killed in action when HMS Intrepid was attacked by German Ju 88 aircraft and sank in Leros harbour.

Midshipman Granet served on HMS Royal Sovereign, HMS Warspite and HMS Intrepid. He was killed when HMS Intrepid was attacked by German Ju 88 aircraft and sank in Leros harbour in the Aegean Sea on 26th September 1943.
