A first world war medal pair awarded to 58724 Private John Robinson, Machine Gun Corps, who was wounded when a rifle in the hands of a fellow soldier accidentally went off, wounding him in the foot.

The medals are in good condition.
Private Robinson was accidentally shot in the foot when preparing to go to the trenches with the Gun Section. Fellow soldier, Private Eggington was taking the breech cover off his rifle and accidentally caught it on the trigger, causing the cartridge to explode which inflicted the wound to Private Robinson.
John Robinson was from Leeds, Yorkshire.
