This collection incorporates Proof specimens of the circulating range of united Kingdom coins for 2005. In addition to the standard versions, this collection also contains the 2005 £2 and 50p coins celebrating respectively the 400th anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot and the 250th anniversary of the publication of Samuel Johnson's dictionary.
The 2005 £1 coin, the second in a series of four featuring bridges from the constituent parts of the United Kingdom, represents Wales and features the Menai Bridge.
The overall issue limit for the 2005 Untied Kingdom Proof Set is 50,000.
