A first world war casualty medal pair awarded to 2nd Lieutenant Harry Young Maulkinson, Lincolnshire Regiment, who died of wounds suffered at the Second Battle of Scarpe and is remembered at Mablethorpe (St. Mary) Churchyard).

Died of Wounds - 4th June 1917
Harry Maulkinson was born in 1885 and was from Mablethorpe. He was a Sergeant in 3rd Bn Lincolnshire Regiment before being commissioned Temporary Second Lieutenant in 1915 and transferring to the 7th Battalion.
He was wounded in action on 23rd April 1817 at the Second Battle of Scarpe (Arras) and died of his wounds on 4th June 1917 at the London Hospital, Whitechapel.
The medals are in good condition.
Comes with quantity of research and a copy of the book 'For Freedom's Cause, The men on the Mablethorpe War Memorial' in which Maulkinson is listed with some details.
