Private Allen was awarded the Military Medal for carrying two men, who had both been gassed, from the front line trenches to the dressing station, a distance of 2 miles, during a gas attack by the Germans at Ypres on 19/12/1915. Allen himself was gassed on the same day and hospitalised on 27/12/1915.
The medals are in good condition and are mounted on card (court style) for display.
