London Gazette: 19th October 1944 (Immediate Award)
'L/Cpl. Hollowood was in charge of the Medical Section of Orderlies and Drivers under the Battalion Medical Officer. Casualties occurred at about 1100 hours on 18th July, 1944 before the Battalion went into action.L/Cpl. Hollowood immediately left his vehicle and assisted the Medical Officer in treating them although under consistent and accurate shell fire. He then took the casualties back to the nearest medical unit, and, on his own initiative, found, treated and evacuated other casualties of the Division on his way. It was only by his determination and pertinacity that he eventually returned to the Battalion, which had advanced several miles, by 1900 hours on the same day. 

On the 19th and 20th July, 1944, L/Cpl. Hollowood continued to show unflagging zeal and the greatest ability in treating casualties under mortar and shell fire, making many journeys to the A.D.S. and never failing to return in the shortest possible time.'

Hollowood was also wounded in action in Germany on the 29/3/1945.

The medals are in good condition with ribbons.
