A Northern Ireland and Falklands War long service medal group awarded to PO35136S Corporal T.J. "Tommy" Robson, 40 Commando, Royal Marines.

Campaign Service Medal (Clasp - Northern Ireland) name to Mne T J Robson PO35136S RM
South Atlantic Medal 1982 (with rosette) named to LCpl T J Robson PO35136S RM
Royal Navy Long Service & Good Conduct Medal named to Cpl T J Robson PO35136S RM

The medals are in good condition and are swing mounted for wear.

T J “Tommy” Robson PO35136S was in 40 Commando, B Company, 6 Troop, 8 Section, Royal Marines and second in charge of the section. He died in 2013.

During the Falklands campaign Tommy was second in command of a rifle section of nine men. Corporal “Tiny” Cleary was the section commander and in charge of the gun (GPMG) group.

The service number indicates a 1975 enlistment, so Tommy would have still been serving in 1990 to qualify for the Long Service medal.

B Company had a busy but frustrating Falklands war being left at San Carlos though they did relieve L Company 42 Commando on Sussex Mountain as 42 relieved 2 Para at Mount Challenger.

B Company 40 Commando went to West Falkland to take the surrender of the Argentine forces in the area.

Robson didn’t take part in the 40 Commando tour of Cyprus as he went on to be a DL (Drill Instructor), so having moved on after the Falklands he missed 40's 83 NI & 84 Cyprus tour. Robson took part in the London Victory Parade.
