The medals are in good condition and are swing mounted for wear.
Edward Richard Pryer was born in Camberwell, London, the son of J. R. Pryer, who was employed as a Political Agent. Pryer resided in Portsmouth, and served during the Great War with the 1st Hampshire Brigade, Royal Field Artillery (T.F.). During the second world war he served with 214 / 57 Anti-Aircraft Regiment, RA and was wounded on 3/6/1940.
In 1953 Pryer was charged with theft after admitting to stealing cigarettes, wine, spiritd and beer worth £29 19s. 11 1/2d while working in the Sergeants Mess of the 457 (Wessex) H.A.A. Regt. R.A.
He died in Hampshire in 1979.
