A first world war medal pair awarded to 2nd Lieutenant Frederick Vincent Mellors (later Captain), West Riding Regiment, who was an original Grimsby Chum serving in the 10th Bn. Lincolnshire Regiment.

The medals are in good condition.
Frederick Vincent Mellors original served with the 10th (Grimsby Chums) Lincolnshire Regiment as a Corporal (No. 772). They went out to France in January 1916 and first saw action on the first day of the Battle of the Somme (1/7/16) where Mellors was wounded in action, receiving a gun shot wound to his chest. He was admitted to No.3 Casualty Clearing Station on 2/7/1916.
He was commissioned into the West Riding Regiment in August 1917 and went on to become a Captain.
