The medal has some contact marks and wear, with pitting to the obverse and reverse. All naming can be read. Please see photos.
John Bruce was from Dunfermline, Fife. He joined the Cameron Highlanders on 21st February 1885 at the age of 23. He served in Egypt from Sept 1885 until March 1887 and his papers show he "Deserted 17th June '89".
