A first world war POW medal pair to 85388 Private Dennis Joseph York, Machine Gun Corps.
British War Medal named to 85388 Pte. D.J. York. M.G.C.
WW1 Victory Medal named to 85388 Pte. D.J. York. M.G.C.
Private York's service papers show that he was wounded by gas on 30.10.1917. On 25.04.1918 he received a gun shot wound to his left and was captured. He was a prisoner of war in Germany for 257 days, being released on 06.12.1918.
The medals are in good condition with good lengths of original ribbons.
