London Gazette: 21st August 1917 (M.M.)
Private Roydon Street was awarded the Military Medal "for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He acted as the bearers officer's runner and did very valuable work under dangerous and difficult conditions from June 14th to the night of June 19th 1917. On the final night he was carrying stretcher cases through enemy's shell and gas barrage and carried on with great bravery until he collapsed from the effects of gas poisoning."
