A first world war medal pair awarded to 23166 Private Eric Rennison Morritt, 8th Bn. York & Lancs Regt. 

British War Medal named to 23166 Pte. E.R. Morritt. Y. & L. R. 
WW1 Victory Medal named to 23166 Pte. E.R. Morritt. Y. & L. R. 

The medals are in good condition with good lengths of original ribbons along with the box of issue and envelope. 

Private Morritt was wounded in action on either the 1st or 2nd day of the Somme, receiving a gun shot wound to his right arm causing a compound fracture.
