Bray served with the 2nd Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment pre WW1. He joined the 6th Battalion on the 2/2/15 as a Temp. Major and was posted to Gallipoli. He was promoted to Temp. Lt. Col. on the 8/9/15 and took over command of the 6th Battalion until he became incapacitated.
Bray rejoined in WW2 and served as a Major in the Pioneer Corps.

He is mentioned frequently in the regimental history, particulary concerning his time in Gallipoli.
