A first world war MM awarded to L-19999 Gunner Frederick Moody, Royal Field Artillery, who was wounded in action and taken prisoner of war.

London Gazette: 19th February 1917
Frederick Moody was wounded in action 29/6/17. He was the taken prisoner of war at Cambrai on 30/11/17. He was released in November 1918.
Moody sadly died after the war in 1919, when working at Rotherham Main Colliery. Whilst at work in the Swallow Wood pit the roof fell in and buried him in debris. Attempts were made to get him out after four hours he was pulled out and was already dead.
The medal is in good condition.
