A first world war BWM to Major Edmund Thomas William McCausland OBE, 3rd Queen Alexandra's Own Gurkha Rifles.
British War Medal named to Major E.T.W. McCausland.
The medal is in good condition with ribbon.
Major McCausland was born in December 1883 and was educated at Eton.
In 1902 he was an officer in the Londonderry Royal Garrison Artillery Militia.
He was commissioned into the Royal Berkshire Regiment as a 2nd Lieut on 27/01/1904 and promoted to a Lieutenant on 27/04/1906 before being appointed to the Indian Army in 1909, being posted as a Company Officer in the 1/3rd Gurkha Rifles on 09/03/1909. By the end of 1917 he was Acting Major and then Major in 1919.
McCausland was awarded the O.B.E. for valuable services rendered in connection with Military Operations in Mesopotamia - to be dated 7th Feb 1921.
Comes with a photograph of him with other British officers circa 1909 and some research.
