Der Führer stiftete am 25. Juli 1942 zur an die
heldenhaften Kämpfe un die Krim den Krim-Schild. Der Krim-Schild wird zur
Uniform am linken Oberarm getragen. Er wird verliehen an alle Wehrmachtangehörigen
und der Wehrmacht unterstellte Personen, die in der Zeit vom 21. September
1941bis 4. Juli 1942 an den Kämpfen umdie Krim zu Lande, in der Luft und zu
Wasser ehrenvoll beteiligt waren. Die Verleihung vollzieht im Namen des Führers
Generalfeldmarshall von Manstein. Den Krim-Schild erhält, wer wärend der Zeit
vom 21. September 1941 bis 4. Juli 1942 südlich der Landenge von Perekop zu
Lande, in der Luft oder zur See eine der nachstehenden Vorausseßungen erfüllt
het: Teilnahme an einer Hauptschlacht; Verwundung; ununterbrochener Aufenthalt
von drei Monaten auf der Krim.
TRANSLATED: On July 25, 1942, the Führer established
the Crimean Shield to commemorate the heroic battles in Crimea. The Crimean
Shield is worn on the left upper arm of the uniform. It is awarded to all
members of the Wehrmacht and those subordinate to the Wehrmacht who honorably
participated in the fighting for Crimea on land, in the air, and at sea between
September 21, 1941, and July 4, 1942. Field Marshal von Manstein performs the
award on behalf of the Führer. The Crimean Shield is awarded to anyone who
fulfilled one of the following requirements on land, in the air, or at sea
south of the Isthmus of Perekop between September 21, 1941, and July 4, 1942:
participation in a major battle; injury; an uninterrupted stay of three months
in Crimea.
The other side reads:
Der Führer hat die Schaffung eines Ärmelstreifens “Kreta”
als Kampfabzeichen genehmigt. Das Abzeichen wird am linken Unterärmel der
Unifrom getragen.
Von den Angehörigen des Heeres kommen alle Soldaten für die Verleihung in
Betracht. Die bis einschließlich 27. Mai 1941 auf der Insel abgesprungen oder
gelandet sind. Soldaten, die mit leichten Schiffsstaffeln am 19. Mai 1941 in
See gegangen sind und am Seegefecht bei der Insel teilgenommen haben. Das Ärmelband
Kreta verleiht für alle Angehörigen des Heeres der Oberbefehlshaber der XII.
Armee.
TRANSLATED: The Führer has approved the creation of a
"Crete" cuff insignia as a combat insignia. The insignia is worn on
the left lower sleeve of the uniform.
All Army personnel are eligible for the award. Those who parachuted or landed
on the island up to and including May 27, 1941, and those who embarked with
light naval squadrons on May 19, 1941, and participated in the naval battle off
the island. The Crete cuff insignia is awarded to all Army personnel by the
Commander-in-Chief of the XII Army.
