The medals are in good condition.
George Wallace Campbell was born on 17th May 1914. He enlisted into the East Yorkshire Regiment on 15/12/1939.
Serving with the 50th Division, he was captured and taken prisoner of war at the Battle of Mersa Matruh on 29/6/1942. He spent time as a prisoner of war in Italy at Camp 70 - Monturano, Fermo, before moving to Stalag VII-A, Moosburg and then Stalag XVIIA Kaisersteinbruch.
In 1945 George changed his surname by deed poll to Hart, becoming George Wallace Hart.
Comes with original box of issue, record of service form, certificate of transfer to Army Reserve and Deed Poll certificate.
