Fantastic WW2 DSM medal group to Able Seaman A W Dunn

Able Seaman Alfred William Dunn (D/JX 284607), Royal Navy, received a five medals including the Distinguished Service Medal (DSM) for his bravery during World War II.
They suffered a direct hit killing the Officer of the Quarters, gun captain, and trainer, and wounding others, Dunn relentlessly attempted to restore the gun to action. Finding this impossible, he selflessly tended to the wounded before assisting his gun crew to the upper deck to aid in the overall effort.
His actions were instrumental in helping securing HMS Saumarez. Throughout the engagement, which resulted in 11 crew deaths and 23 injuries aboard HMS Rapid, Dunn remained cheerful and courageous, exemplifying exceptional bravery.
HMS Rapid, was disabled by disabled by counter bombardment from shore batteries and subsequently towed to Akyab by HMS Saumarez for repairs.
