An Afghanistan medal to B/156 Private W. Sealey, 66th Foot. Later adapted into a menu holder with 1899 hallmarked silver mount.
Afghanistan 1878-80 Medal named to B/156 Pte. W. Sealey. 66th Foot
The medal has been later adapted into a menu holder with a hallmarked silver mount affixed to the back of the carriage. Hallmarks are for Birmingham 1899. The suspender no longer swivels. Very neatly done. Please see photos.
The 66th Foot sustained heavy casualties at the Battle of Maiwand in July 1880.
