George V Military Medal named to 252 Fl. Sjt. D. Martin. R.F.C.
Martin was born in Lanark in 1886. He enlisted into the army in 1904 and transferred to the Royal Fling Corps on its formation on 9/7/1912. He landed in France on 13/8/1914 with 2 Sqdn. R.F.C. Qualified as an Observer 4/4/1916.
Military Medal: L.G. - 11/10/1916 for services in France 10/8/1916
Mentioned in Despatches (x 3): L.G. - 11/12/1917, 3/6/1919, 11/7/1919 (for services in France)
Meritorious Service Medal: L.G. - 1/1/1919
